Registered Nurse - Mental Health Inpatient Unit

The Registered Nurse is responsible for rendering professional nursing care to patients, including assessing, developing, implementing nursing care needs on individual and continuing basis. The nurse will lead education, focus and health wellness groups, teaching patients and families, and monitoring patients with co morbidities.
Responsibilities
A day in the life of a Registered Nurse at Meridian includes:
Addressing mental and medical aspects of care for behavioral health patient
Monitoring care using nursing skill set for administration of medications, monitoring health status, withdrawals and other medical issues
Providing educational group therapies as well as one on one therapeutic interaction
Maintaining a therapeutic atmosphere, participate in treatment team incorporating all modalities of treatment
Qualifications
Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required
Certified in BLS (Basic Life Support) is required
Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma is required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred
One (1) year of med/surgical nursing experience and/or one (1) year of psychiatric nursing experience is required or must be an active participant with the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program
Two (2) to three (3) years of psychiatric nursing experience is preferred
