Reinsurance Accounting Manager

Now Hiring: Reinsurance Accounting Manager. Management of 4 accountants. 5
years' experience in accounting for facultative, treaty and ceded reinsurance. Located in Monmouth County NJ.
Excellent compensation package base and annual bonus. Our client is not seeking a candidate that needs to relocate for this opportunity.
Responsibilities:
o Manage and participate in monthly and quarterly accounting functions including cession analysis, manual reinsurance calculations, adjusting journal entries, cash settlement and application, financial analysis and review, management, intermediary, and reinsurer reporting, and account reconciliations.
o Review and approve treaty and facultative contracts including establishment of reinsurance terms within multiple operating systems for accurate policy and claim attachment.
o Manage and review reinsurance term adjustments and profit commission calculations.
o Administer Corporation Catastrophe Treaty, including all related accounting, reporting, and securitization.
o Administer process to accurately securitize the Corporation on a statutory and corporate funding requirements basis, including letter of credit, funds held, and trusts.
o Prepare Annual Statement Schedule F, Schedule P (CAT), and reinsurance related Notes and Interrogatories for multiple legal entities.
o Manage the internal, external, and reinsurer audits process to ensure accuracy of data provide for review, oversee audit, and resolution of audit results.
o Compile and review the quarterly financial reporting package for presentation to senior and executive management.
Required
Qualifications:
o Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting
o 5
years' experience directly involved in treaty system set up, accounting, administration, and analysis of ceded reinsurance
o 3
years' experience managing a team of 4 accountants
o Exceptional analytical skills and ability to assess accuracy of large volumes of data
o Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills, pivot tables, and complex formulae, along with strong Access skills
o Excellent ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively both verbally and in writing
o Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize, and effectively meet deadlines working on multiple assignments simultaneously
Preferred
Qualifications:
o CPA designation
o ARe designation
o 1
year IT project life cycle experience including development of requirements and user acceptance testing
o Familiarity with Cognos, Crystal, and QlikView reporting tools, preferably in relation to data warehouse environments.
