SQL Server Application Architect

Develop optimized T-SQL query patterns for a large-scale data platform that builds, stores, schedules and executes custom segmentation groups and analytics
Propose using new features and technologies of SQL Server 2005-2014, especially around ETL, caching, stored procedures, triggers, columnar storage and in-memory tables
Evaluate uses of other technologies to query customer data and make improvements
Work with partners in operations to leverage logging and performance profiling to develop monitoring and administrative tools
Investigate, analyze and address reported defects in a timely manner. Solutions to these problems can include code changes, data updates, or configuration modifications
Build standards-based frameworks and libraries to support a large scale application
Work through all phases of the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Write creative and efficient code to meet and exceed requirements
Assist in technical design and development reviews
Knowledge of virtualization and experience with virtualized database environments
General knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guidelines regarding security of databases
Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of coworkers, clients, and other external contacts
Ability to perform in a multitasking, team-oriented environment and contribute independently
Qualifications
7
years of MS-SQL Server (including SQL Server 2012/2014), including but not limited to: stored procedures; synonyms; indexing; and performance tuning

years working with large-scale OLAP/OLTP systems and relational data warehouses for use in data collection, analytics, summarization and import/export
Knowledge of the following will be considered a plus: Cloud computing systems, ASP.NET; XML; data structures and collections; caching; and configuration of application servers
Experience building high traffic web applications with SQL Server backend
Strong knowledge of object oriented development principles, multi-tier web application design and strong relational database principles
Ability to design and develop software in a group or independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Should be comfortable interacting with all levels of technical and business resources
Good analytical skills, understanding of project life cycles, and ability to act in an entrepreneurial manner to ensure the software delivered matches the business communities' needs
Exposure to a variety of technologies preferred, esp. Java, UNIX, Mono, Oracle, Python
Mortgage or financial industry is a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
